photo catch up

We decided today would be a rest day, and we would stay in our beautiful air BNB, and a perfect choice for the day.

It is warm but raining heavily.

Quotes of the day:

I just have to wash the coffee off my foot.

I can’t have my coffee without pain au chocolat.

We have reach new lows and new highs in our expectations.

Yesterday we made the move from our manoir in Brittany to our lodgings in the Loire.  We routed through secondary highways, rolling through the little French towns not on the tourist trail.  Our one mark for the day was Villandry, famous for its gardens.

We arrived in Dierre, France, a tiny village of 562 people and perfectly perfect.  Every tiny yard is groomed and tidy with little fenced vegetable gardens, grape vines, fruit trees.   562 industrious French inhabitants here.

Our hosts greeted us with a local red wine (this is wine cellar territory) - and showed us their two week old foal.

Being a rest day, we got some groceries and are presently lounging about the premises.  Dinner willbe in house.  Tomorrow will be our longest travel day.  Most travelling days have been 2-3 hours of actually driving time, but tomorrow we have five hours in the car, with a few stops along the way.
